Winter 2024 Newsletter
Having dodged nearly all bugs going around for months, one has finally got me! I’ve been home since last Thursday – on the couch (I know so unlike me!) having had the worst cold I’ve had for years! This is only the 2nd time in 18 years the shop has been closed due to me being unwell - however, I am on the mend now and the shop will re-open tomorrow!
A lot has happened over the past month! I had a new range of flannels arrive – Folk Art Flannel 111 – they are absolutely perfect if you’ve been after checks & plaids suitable for a mans quilt, or even to mix with some beautiful florals!
As you would know, Bustle & Bows in Warrandyte has closed. Shirley has earned her retirement & I wish her all the best for the future! Although I have heard you become so busy when you retire, you wonder how you ever found time to go to work!!
We are so happy to announce that Ana Mallah who teaches embroidery here weekly on Fridays, has brought 2 of her Bustle & Bows classes across to us!! Ana will hold alternate Wednesday am & pm classes – the 1st & 3rd Wed of the month, and an all day class on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. Phone to book a spot!!
At the start of July Robyn & I headed over to Adelaide for Craft Alive. We hadn’t attended this craft show before, so it was great to meet so many ladies in South Australia who’ve been looking for flannels!! These shows are always so much fun, I love everybody’s enthusiasm for their crafts! As we arrived a day early we hired a car and were able to head down to Glenelg (fish & chips on the foreshore) and also had a quick trip to Hahndorf! That was so beautiful we could have spent the whole day there!!
I’ll be back at the shop tomorrow – looking forward to being around people again!!
Warmest regards,
Therese
